LONG BIO
Growing up, Linda J. White could frequently be found nestled, flashlight under the covers, with books like Albert Payson Terhune’s “Lad, a Dog,” Walter Farley’s “The Black Stallion,” and of course, Marguerite Henry’s “Misty of Chincoteague.” Her childhood obsession helped her develop an appreciation for the power of story and the depth of the human-animal connection. To no one’s surprise, her degree from the University of Maryland is in English literature.
Today Linda writes FBI and K-9 search and rescue books. Her late husband worked as a video producer/director at the FBI Academy for nearly thirty years. The training films he produced were fodder for many dinner table conversations. Their children grew up arresting each other in the backyard using proper FBI techniques. When the writing bug bit, Linda had the background to write authentically.
Three traditionally published novels followed, including the HOLT Medallion-winning “Seeds of Evidence.” Then Linda decided to publish independently. To date, Linda has authored six FBI thrillers and five K-9 search and rescue books with more to come. Many have been Selah award and HOLT Medallion finalists. All feature characters worth caring about, caught up in difficult situations, and struggling with life’s biggest questions.
During this time Linda also worked as an assistant editorial page editor at a daily newspaper in Virginia where she wrote an award-winning column. She has taught adult Bible studies for over thirty years. Today she lives in Yorktown, Virginia near three of her grandchildren. She loves taking them to Chincoteague where her grandparents lived when she was a kid. Most of all, she loves reading—and writing—stories that stir the heart and glorify God.
